RICK Expands Engineering Services and Expertise in the Inland Empire with the Acquisition of Armstrong & Brooks
RIVERSIDE, Calif. – August 12, 2024 –RICK, a multidisciplinary planning, design and engineering firm with 11 offices in the western United States, has acquired Armstrong & Brooks (A&B), a 24-year-old civil engineering firm headquartered in the Inland Empire that serves both the private and public sectors. The company’s founders, Dennis G. Armstrong and William D. Brooks, were named associate principals at RICK.
“The acquisition of A&B will add 11 engineering professionals to our Riverside team and strengthen our ability to provide comprehensive civil engineering services, from commercial development to infrastructure planning,” said Kai E. Ramer, president and CEO of RICK.
“Our initial meetings with A&B attested that both firms' cultures and business models aligned beautifully. We share a family-focused work ethic and a dedication to delivering exceptional work at every level,” he added. In the fall, the A&B team will move into expanded offices at RICK’s Riverside location, 1770 Iowa Ave., Suite 100.
“We are excited to join RICK to serve our clients with expanded capabilities and to boost our employees’ career opportunities,” said Brooks, the A&B vice president. “We have shared some of the same clients in the Inland Empire and, consequently, have been aware of RICK’s reputation for integrity and professionalism. Additionally, longevity speaks volumes. Many of the RICK employees have been with the company for decades,” he said.
“RICK, which has been serving the Inland Empire since 1987, is excited to provide our clients with added expertise, capacity, and depth of experience,” said Ramer. “Our strategic expansion in the past year has led to acquisitions in the Phoenix, Las Vegas and Inland Empire markets, as well as a new office in Santa Clarita and a new Watershed science and planning group. We now have more than 400 employees who collaborate and work seamlessly from 11 offices in California, Arizona, Colorado and Nevada,” he said.
